Morzine
is one of the 12 resorts in France and Switzerland which comprise
the 'Portes du Soleil' ski area - the largest ski area in the world.
It has a wealth of facilities for skiers and non-skiers alike. Whilst
Morzine has developed into a modern resort with all the facilities
you would expect, it has also retained the beauty and character
of the original village.
Skiing
and Snow boarding
The Portes du Soleil has a diverse range of ski runs that
are very suitable for beginners and experts alike. There are easy
runs in and out of town, and for experts, the legendary Swiss Wall
takes you across the border into Switzerland for the day. (ski

Cross Country/Nordic Skiing
If you are very fit there are also 300 kms of groomed cross
country trails that take you through the mountains and around the
local lakes.
Snow
Walking
This has become very popular recently - you bind what looks
like plastic tennis rackets to your feet, and guides, depending
on your level of fitness, will take you on adventure walks through
the mountains.
Luge-ing,
tobogganing and snowmobiling
If you have the energy in the evening, their are many evening
activities (other than drinking) including the town luge, snowmobiling
and floodlit skiing.
Ice Diving!
Each year they cut a hole in Montriond lake and offer ice
diving to those who are insane!
Other
Activities
For those that don't ski, there are plenty of shops and
restaurants in town, or it is easy to arrange excursions to the
historical towns of Annacy and Evian.
