Walking Trips
Walking
is one of the major attractions to the Alps. Some walk for pleasure,
others for exercise. Some take their paints and easel, some their
cameras, but everyone enjoys the view. Their are hundreds of miles
of marked foot paths that are graded and have an estimated duration,
or you can simply set out through the meadows and make your own
path.
We
have maps and walking guides as well as wildlife and flora reference
books that will help you really appreciate the beauty of the Alps.
Col
du Cou
Our
favourite walk is to follow the "resistance trail"
to the Swiss border.
|
 |
| The
best start for this walk is Lac Minnes d'Or (which is beautiful
to visit in its own right). You are quickly in the meadows where
cows and goats graze. |
 |
You
can stop at the farm house to see the milking and goats cheese
being made. They also have a cafe for drinks and a restaurant
for lunch.
|
 |
| Follow
the trail higher into the mountains. |
 |
| It
winds up through several valleys. |
 |
| At
the top, you a greeted with a fantastic view of the Swiss mountains.
You can either continue into Switzerland or return via a different
path to Lac Minnes d'Or. |
