There
are many other interesting towns to explore in the Portes du Soleil
region.
Les
Gets Full
of authentic character, Les Gets is quieter than Morzine and
Avoriaz but still home to a host of winter and summer activities.
Mont Chery one of the highest peaks in Les Gets offers challenging
hikes in the summer and skiing in the winter. Les Gets is host
to the 2004 VTT World Championships.
Chatel Chatel
has a beautiful setting and all year round you are able to explore
and enjoy the countless routes through the countryside. Over
300km of paths link the 12 Portes du Soleil resorts.
Lindarets
(Goat Village) A
small pretty village, Lindarets is home to the local goats and
the summer economy is largely based on making goats cheese.
In the winter you take the express chair to Avoriaz from Lindarets
and on your return enjoy a well earned drink in the deckchairs
over looking beautiful scenery
Lac
Minnes d'Or Reached
en route to the Col de Cou, Lac Mines d’Or is a lovely
setting for lunch. You can either picnic in the fields and
listen to the cowbells or enjoy wonderful home cooked food
at Le Ferme restaurant before walking off lunch on one of
the trails in the area.
